Following a terrific FA Cup run from Alun and the rest of the squad, we now see the same group going on another run in the FA Trophy.

After a battle of nerves in the penalty shoot out at the weekend against AFC Telford, Darlington now find themselves in the 4th round of the FA Trophy, this time on the road to Weymouth on the 16th January 2021.

Another long trip and one that we're sure Alun would love to have the squad prepared for in a similar way to that of Swindon and Bristol Rovers in the FA Cup.

As a fan owned club, we stood up and raised an amazing combined amount of  £5,292 for both above fixtures to help toward any costs incurred through travel and accommodation.

In response to the last fundraiser, David Johnson commented:

“From your Chairman & CEO – You are the best fans in the World, thank you so much for doing this and keep the contributions coming, this trip will cost the club £3,650. Words fail me, you are unbelievable”

The estimated travel cost including an overnight stay in Weymouth is £3,800 therefore we're targeting a minimum total of £2,300 to help offset any potential shortfall cost of travel based on the prize money for this fixture set as follows:

• Winning club to receive £5,250

• Losing club to receive £1,500

Raising the full amount of £3,800 would mean that the club would also retain the full quota of prize money, win or lose. However anything that can be raised will mean that any potential shortfall will be minimised.

We fully understand that during these unprecedented times not everyone will be in a position to contribute, however, any contribution would be gratefully received and any sharing and promoting of this Fan Driven Initiative would be hugely appreciated by Alun, David and the rest of the Darlington team.
